Dreaming Paradise
Dreaming Paradise
If "Hawai'i" brings to mind hula dolls, flowered shirts, beach boys lying on Waikiki beach strumming their ukuleles, and the timeless music of Don Ho, think again!
There's a whole new generation of entertainers, raised in a multi-cultural environment on a combination of traditional music, slack key and MTV, who've developed a solid following by creating their own kind of hip, upbeat contemporary island rhythms and Hawaiian reggae.
"Dreaming Paradise" is a compilation of 14 mid tempo originals by many of Hawai'i's most popular stars, and many whose star is "on the rise." These songs, influenced by the entertainers who laid down the cultural foundation before them, are about love and an island lifestyle reflective of the thoughts and feelings of today's Hawai'i. Simply put, this is feel good island music!
"Dreaming Paradise" kicks off with Na Hoku nominee for best new artist, Kawika Regidor, creating a true "Paradise" for the ears with his original love song. Justin Young, a multiple Hawaii Music Award winner and Na Hoku nominee, puts his velvety voice to "One More Aloha." "Bruddah Norm," Hawai'i Music Award winner for "Male Vocalist of the Year," mixes his sweet R&B style with a light Hawaiian reggae beat in his original song, "Can't You See." The title track, "Dreaming Paradise," with ukulele picking by Heart and Soul, presents the laid back picture of the islands that most locals and visitors cling to, while Ka'ala Boys "One and Only Lover," packs a steady groove. And there's so much more on "Dreaming Paradise," - Reality, Butch Helemano, Side Salad, Annette, Kulana, Tony Solis, Daylan and more.
